USAWP members got an email today announcing that the December 4-5 Southeast Zone Olympic Development Program (SEZ ODP) tournament in Boca Raton has been cancelled. Instead they are hosting a clinic on December 4. This clinic is one of a few opportunities for individuals to be seen by Southeast Zone coaches and be selected for the Zone team. If you are interested in attending that clinic, that is something players sign up for individually through their USA Water Polo account. We will be adding regular Saturday 10am-12pm club practice on Saturday, December 4th for those who opt out of the ODP clinic. Here is a copy of the email in case you have not seen it yet:
The Olympic Development Program Southeast Zone Identification Tournament scheduled for December 4-5 at Boca Raton High School has been cancelled. The Southeast Zone ODP staff will instead host a 3rd skill clinic on December 4 at Boca Raton High School. This clinic will be open to all divisions both boys and girls and will go from 8am- 12pm and 1:30pm – 530pm. Signups are through your USAWP accounts. Please contact Kurt Predmore at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
This is a reminder that players should bring a workout outfit and sneakers each day in case there is lightning. If the school’s lightning alarm sounds, our coaches will run a dry land workout in a safe area on campus (ie. body weight exercises, passing on land, etc) until the all clear alarm goes off or until the end of practice. They will continue to practice as usual in rain and only clear the pool deck if there is lightning.
