Summer Training Trip & Junior Olympics

UPDATE: The summer training trip dates are tentatively July 15 to 31. We will train in Texas from the 15th to the 27th and then enter a boys 16U and girls 18U team in the Junior Olympics from the 28th to the 31st. Teams will fly back on July 31st. We are still in the planning phase as far as flights and hotels, but once we have more on that, we will share and collect trip deposits. Sign up for the summer training trip & JOs is here.

Hello Everyone!

Last Thursday, USA Water Polo announced their plans for the 2022 Junior Olympics this summer (see email below) and so we are beginning to make our training plans accordingly. If we have enough interested players to enter teams into the Junior Olympics, we will choose to compete in Session III: July 28-31 in Dallas, Texas. The age category of the teams we will enter is based on those who sign up (Relevant Divisions are Girls & Boys 14U, 16U, 18U). The training portion of the trip will be roughly the 2 weeks leading up to the Junior Olympics – there is flexibility on the exact dates based on players’ availability. Raider WP organizes flights, hotels and transportation in Dallas.

Please fill out this Google Doc to indicate your player’s interest and availability: Texas Training Trip & Junior Olympics

In June, we will have practices and tournaments locally. Practices are Monday to Thursday and Saturday – practice calendar is here: https://raiderwaterpolo.org/calendar/. Tournament info will be updated here as tournament directors send out invitations: https://raiderwaterpolo.org/tournaments/

Reminder – Weather

This is a reminder that players should bring a workout outfit and sneakers each day in case there is lightning. If the school’s lightning alarm sounds, our coaches will run a dry land workout in a safe area on campus (ie. body weight exercises, passing on land, etc) until the all clear alarm goes off or until the end of practice. They will continue to practice as usual in rain and only clear the pool deck if there is lightning.
