The school has communicated with the faculty that there is currently a high level of stress amongst students, as they head into End of Semester Exams. Given that, we have decided not to have any practices next week. Players should use this time to focus on studying and finishing the semester strong without any distractions. As an alternative, the coaches will provide players with optional dry land workouts that they can do on their own or with teammates during study breaks. The practice calendar has been updated.
Splashball Pass Holder: for Splashball players (5th grade and younger)
Bronze: for middle school and high school players who practice and participate in local tournaments
Silver: for middle school and high school players who practice and participate in local and regional tournaments
Gold: for middle school and high school players who practice and participate in local, regional and national tournaments (ie. Junior Olympics)
If you allow your USAWP membership to expire at the end of the year, you will not be allowed to participate in any 2023 club practices or tournaments until it is renewed – no exceptions! This is especially important if you plan on playing in the Patriot Invitational in January.
For those of you who will be in town during holiday break, there will be a camp at Belen Jesuit led by camp directors Felix Mercado (Brown University Men’s and Women’s Head Coach) and John Abdou (USA Water Polo High Performance director).
There is a $100 discount code specifically offered to RE/Raider WP players (thank you Julie & David Friedland!). The discount code will be shared in the WhatsApp group with the players.
Please fill out the google docs with your availability for the upcoming club tournaments! Once we have enough responses, we will post which tournaments we are entering, the gender/age divisions and our rosters with cap numbers.T
Tournament game schedules are typically shared by the host club 1 week before the tournament. We will post it on our website as soon as it is shared with us.
January 13-15, 2023:Patriot Winter Invitational (Tournament Divisions: 14U Coed, 18U) @ Lake Brantley High School: 991 Sand Lake Rd, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714 NOTE: Parents and players should drive up to Orlando afterschool on Friday, January 13. Players are NOT permitted to miss any class in order to attend this tournament.
This is a reminder that players should bring a workout outfit and sneakers each day in case there is lightning. If the school’s lightning alarm sounds, our coaches will run a dry land workout in a safe area on campus (ie. body weight exercises, passing on land, etc) until the all clear alarm goes off or until the end of practice. They will continue to practice as usual in rain and only clear the pool deck if there is lightning.
