Raider Water Polo is a USA Water Polo club team located in Miami, FL that looks to provide athletes with the opportunity to continue their water polo season all year long. We compete at the highest level, while focusing on the fact that water polo is a chance to learn important life lessons. Athletes are expected to commit themselves to their team and the sport, while upholding high academic and personal standards. We practice at the Ransom Everglades Aquatic Center in the best pool in South Florida with a view of Biscayne Bay. The address is: 3575 Main Highway Miami, FL 33133. Adult Programs (Men’s Open and Women’s Open): These teams compete at the Father’s Day Classic in June at Gulliver Prep, Julia Zurek-Ardila Thanksgiving Tournament in November at Gulliver.
High School Program (16s and 18s): This program is our highest level of water polo. Club season is from mid-November to the beginning of February, during which practice is Monday to Thursday and Saturday. Then, February to the beginning of May is the High School Season (FHSAA). During that time, the club only practices on Saturdays. From May until end of July, we go back to Monday to Thursday and Saturday practices plus a California Training Trip for about 3 weeks in July (open to all ages and levels). From mid-August until mid-November we practice on Saturdays while the kids participate in High School Swim Season (FHSAA). For the high school program, we also have optional Friday morning scrimmages with alumni players which are led and organized by Coach Brad and the juniors and seniors on the team. Middle School Program (12s and 14s): This program practices alongside the high school program with an emphasize on perfecting the fundamentals and an introduction to strategy. Club season is from mid-November to the beginning of February, during which practice is Monday-Thursday and Saturday. Then, February to mid-April is Middle School Season. During that time, the club only practices on Saturdays. This program usually takes a break until mid-May, and at that time, practices resume Monday-Thursday and Saturday until the California Training Trip which is about 3 weeks in July. From mid-August until mid-November we practice on Saturdays while the kids participate in Middle School Swim Season.
Splashball: The Splashball program is led by Coach Brad Gould and is intended for players in 5th grade or younger, or for older players who have never played before. This program focuses on introducing the sport to players at a young age and focuses on learning the fundamentals. Splashball practices on Saturdays throughout the year for one hour in the REACH pool.
